I’m having trouble with the cookie pop up here, so I thought as a last resort I’d try a blocker,it says free but when you click on it they want your card number....no chance!!

Use opera browser, bobbi... at least for this site. When a "free" site asks for your card number, there is generally the option to "skip". Sometimes printed smaller... lol. I would never give mine either.
in chrome i used an extension called 'i don't care about cookies'
That works for me
Cookies don't 'pop up'!

Total AV is an anti-virus product, in the same way that AVG and Avast are. If you're actually looking for a free anti-virus program, then I use and recommend Avast:
https://www.avast.com/en-gb/lp-ppc-hp-v2

If you're experiencing lots of pop-up ads, they're probably being generated by malware, so it's a free anti-malware program that you should be looking for. If you happen to already have the free version of Malwarebytes Anti-Malware on your computer, that will do the job. However a fresh download of that product comes with a free trial of the full (paid for) version, which seems to slow some computers down, so I now recommend using AdwCleaner instead. There's no installation process involved; you just run the downloaded file directly:
https://www.malwarebytes.com/adwcleaner/

If you're simply getting fed up of being asked to accept cookies, you can use the free browser extension recommended by Aelmpvw. It's available for Chrome, Firefox, Pale Moon and Opera:

Chris it’s the one that comes on here asking you to click ‘ I accept’ the cookies, I’ve cleared the cache and can’t think of anything else I can do, I click I accept but it still continues, this only started yesterday tea time
Question Author
Thanks ael and all , I’ll give that a try
as said, the extension 'i don't care about cookies' should cure that problem
crossed posts :-)
AB seems to have a problem with the way that it's configured, meaning that the invitation to accept cookies comes up more often than it's meant to. I get it twice when I first log into AB, rather than once. If I stay on AB, I don't see it again but if I leave the site and then come back, I do. (That's using Firefox on a PC). It's an ongoing problem, with some devices and/or browsers apparently experiencing the problem more than others. (People using Safari on their iPads seem to be the ones with the most complaints).

AB's techies repeatedly 'fix' the problem but it keeps coming back!

I’m fairly tech minded but this has me flummoxed Chris and getting into Google store to add the extension on my Apple iPad Air is proving difficult, I have it on my pc but not on here, that’s Apple for you tho :0/
Out of interest I have downloaded, installed and ran Total AV Free and have not been asked for card details. I downloaded it from here:

https://www.totalav.com/en/free-antivirus

I shall uninstall it as I have always used Avast, I was just curious
I get the same thing on my iPad, Bobbie - usually every time I click 'enter' or on any link within AB, so several times an hour
You should be using the Apple App Store on your iPad, not the Google Play store, Bobbi.
Question Author
Yes I will hc, it’s just that I use google chrome and wanted to add the extension , I’m now being blighted with emails from total av, groannnn
I wasn't asked for my email address, Bobbi. I don't know what you've done
Question Author
I’ve unsubscribed so hopefully there’s no more x
replaced the inks in my printer this morning and immediately received spam email from epson, coincidence?
Bobbi, I don't use my iPad for AnswerBank very often but I've just tried it with Safari as the browser and Google as the search engine. Got asked to accept cookies on opening but nothing since. A massive improvement.
Give it a go.
Question Author
I will thanks hc, I tend always to use mine as my PC is in another room and mainly used for Micros Word and stuff
