Many (most?) modern web browsers block pop-ups by default, so I'm surprised if you're seeing pop-ups from any source.

Further, many (most?) AB members use 'that-which-shall-not-be-named-here' anyway, and so never see any ads at all.

I'm certainly not seeing pop-ups when viewing AB.
nope as Chris says... have an add on..but..get them on kinle sometimes..don't claim your prize as you are subscribing to a doodah that is around £5 per week I recall....

Sorry, not really pop-ups, I have got these blocked. With AnswerBank open in a tab in EDGE it gets replaced by a page offering prizes etc. Your right it is clickbait and I ignore it but it is * annoying. Neither Norton nor Windows Defender stops it an it is only when the AnswerBank is open.
That reads as if you've got malware on your computer. If you've already got Malwarebytes installed, run it. If not, install and run AdwCleaner, from the same company, instead. (It's got a more basic interface but it saves getting involved in a free trial period for a 'premium' product):
