Does anyone else get this?

Why does the (admittedly adorable) little girl thank her grandpa? And why does he tell her she's welcome? The advert irritates me every time I see it for this reason.

Ahhh yes, that makes sense, so simple! Ta, I was thinking he helped her find it (budgie) and I couldn't figure out how he'd done it from where he was!

There doesn't seem to be any deep meaning to it - but I wonder how many Budgies were used for the clip.

Grandpa is dead, but returns to earth as a budgie and gives her the tablet, hitherto was from someone unknown.

Looks like she changes the camera to the rear facing camera but does she then change it back? I don't think she does.

Why doesn't he call her by her name instead he calls her girl.

Boo, I'm so glad you asked that question, I've been puzzling about it for ages.

Have asked several people myself and no one seems to know which rather defeats the ad I think.

Just watched it with the sound on, my wife and I agree, Grandad bought her the budgie. Did he use budgie smugglers to get it into the country?

I think he bought the budgie for her and the advert shows that with BT Infinity you can talk to people a long way away and show them what's going on. Is that Skype?

I think it's more likely he bought her the iPad and she's using the bird to show how good it picks up the BT wi fi anywhere in the house & garden

But that's just my theory.
