Why does 'Scott' come out of a cupboard in the M and M adverts?
At the start he is in a corridor but when he bursts into the bedroom
he comes out of a cupboard - is this some subtle joke I've missed
or is it just rubbish continuity :-)

I don't know but find the 'all the biting' comment very risque :-)
He's in the hallway of his house....it just looks different because of the change of camera position.
I think that's the bedroom door he enters through.....

Look at the right side of the corridor at the start of the video. There are shelves there. It's those same shelves which you can see (behind the man) when the camera moves into the bedroom
The second m&m comes out of the cupboard to the side. The man comes in the corridor door to the foot of the bed.

Also the doors the m&m comes out of is different to the single door one.
....I'm just astounded that people actually take notice of/watch the ads!
They're telling you that Scott has decided to come out of the closet.
That's why he's not the one in bed with the wife.
Scott is the husband and the yellow m&m that comes out of the cupboard is the 'lookout' who is a bit slow and he says 'Scott's home early'. That's it!
Ah, you are quite right. Of course they are always referred to by their colour. Yellow and Red.
