999: What's OUR Emergency, after watching last nights programme

The amount of time that is wasted by the police with alcohol related incidents is crazy.
Even the police stations sergeant, said the Country's on a downward spiral with alcohol abuse, and a police women said, that if alcohol was invented today, it would be outlawed, like drugs are.

When will the Government start to take the seriousness of consuming alcohol more serious, and stop wasting millions on advertising the soft approach..

I entirely agree with you trt. It really opens my eyes to how drunk some people get and I hope that when they see themselves, they do something about it. There should be somewhere in every town where really drunk people can go to sleep it off with a few on site medics and this will free up the police and the hospitals.
It bugs me that they could be doing better policing and yet they have to police these drunken idiots and get verbally abused for doing so too !
Difficult call for me. My eldest nephew died last year at the age of 39. Yes, drink and drugs were a significant factor, but if his 'friend', who found him unconscious on his settee had had the good sense to call an ambulance, instead of trying to drag him back to his own flat, causing him to fall and choke on his own blood, he might still be with us today.
I wondered what Wrexham FC's reaction was to the player who said he would be missing training as he was...at the police station well over the limit!

If computers had been invented in medieval times someone would be getting burned at the stake. (^_*)
