Subscribing to a Question

12:00 Fri 18th Feb 2011 |

The "Subscribe" feature sends an email to the email address when someone replies to the subscribed thread. This is great for when you've asked a question, but have to be away from the site for a while. It allows you to come back and rejoin the conversation, debate or question with ease (and without having to remember where it is!)

How To Subscribe To A Question

To subscribe to a question, you need only click the "Subscribe" link found in the bottom right hand corner of every question:

Click the Subscribe link to subscribe

This question should then appear in your subscribed questions "pod" found on the lower right hand side of the page. It should now look a little like this:

Subscribed Questions Pod

You should now also receive an email the next time someone answers the questions you've subscribed to. The email will contain a link to the question so you can "jump" to it immediately when you next check your emails.

Things To Remember:

If you're looking at the question you will not receive email updates when others respond to the question. This stops our system from sending you email alerts when you post an answer.

If you wish to unsubscribe from a question, please take the following steps:

Visit the question - you can do this via the Subscribed Questions Pod, or your profile. (Link opens in a new window) Click on the "Unsubscribe" button (it is in the same place as subscribe button). Done! You should no longer receive emails alerts regarding that question.
