When I try to log in to AB, I get this:

https://www.www.theanswerbank.co.uk/

What's gone wrong? Why the extra www in the web address?

Yes, I've been getting that. Even if I delete the superfluous WWW it still comes back. I have to keep typing 'the answerbank" in the Google search box, or find an old thread from ages ago that seems to have slipped through the net in my occasional history clearouts.

Seems obvious to me bookbinder has got in a different way just as I'm having to do.

Ah, yes, naomi24, but I chose a random answer as my Favourite. Up to now, I had the AB icon on my Favorites list, but all of a sudden that didn't work, and I got the web address with the extra www. I would like to go back to having the AB icon on my Favorites list.

Ahh, right.  I'll draw this to the Editor's attention.

This was on my bookmark list and gave a quick way in.

This is the link gives me now that no longer works when I click on it as it changes to "www.www...."  Lets see if it works from here.

Yep, it looks okay above but doesn't work as I get the message

"This site can’t be reached.  Check if there is a typo in www.www.theanswerbank.co.uk"

nma - I click your 16:09 link & go to that thread.

It works for me too.

I had a site that behaved like that many years ago ie, my bookmark took me astray but typing the URL worked. A colleague thought my bookmark had got corrupted and suggested I deleted the bookmark, typed te URL manually and then re-created the bookmark. It worked.

I've now deleted that one from my history (took two attempts just now and created a new bookmark.

I wonder what bookbinder gets when he clicks on my problem link

newmodarmy at 16:24, yes I do get AB when I click on your link, but that's still not what I am used to! I should like to go back to how things were, without some unknown influence rearranging things.
