Rest assured, Ed/Spare Ed whatever you decide will be wrong ;)

Can you explain 'upvote' please?
Ability to edit / delete posts, for a short time at least, to correct typos etc.
An upvote system would give members the chance to approve or disapprove an answer. The most approved answer would become the "Best Answer".
Thank you, Ab Editor. I get it now. :-)
You can already add images via imgbb etc.
I think emojis would stop many an argument.
"The most approved answer would become the "Best Answer"."

Would the OP be able to override that?
I know Zacs-Master but we feel members would prefer to be able to upload images directly to the website without using third party websites. We may be wrong! This poll should help us to find out.
JimF, no. The OP would not be able to overwrite "Best Answer" if we implemented an upvote system.
So the upvote system will have an effect on the current 'Mark as best' answer?
The best answer being chosen by others rather than to original poster?
Exactly, Tilly2.
In which I case, I think that's a terrible suggestion.
An upvote system would make BA more political and, dare I say it (yes, I dare)......cliquey
Would a like/dislike option be less cliquey?

Aw! Thanks for BA!
Embedding photos makes threads long and the site a mess. We can all link to a photo if we need to, and that is enough.
There are thousands of emoji, and they make communication clearer. A lot easier than :-/ and :-(
We should lose the Best Answer altogether. More often than not it isn’t the BA, and is just rewarding the person who agrees with you the most.
Only slightly.
'We should lose the Best Answer altogether. More often than not it isn’t the BA, and is just rewarding the person who agrees with you the most'

Seconded.
Isn't it the same thing as a 'like/dislike' button ?
Not if those likes / dislikes are totted up to make BA.
it's not important enough for me to comment
