Question About Moderation

My question is does the editorial staff review all reports, or only those that have been followed through and the post deleted or the user suspended? Surely if the staff only review those reports that have been acted on, then the system is open to abuse by moderators who will be prepared to ignore reports against their friends.
On a recent thread someone made derogatory comments about how some people report . They could only be privy to this information by being told by a moderator. What is in place to prevent moderators sharing Reports with their AB buddies?

LoL...yes, I know exactly what you are insinuating, here and on your other 'popular' thread....

I know how the site works and I can't decide if, after all your time on here, you genuinely don't understand how it works or if you simply delight in stirring....

Thank you Ed. Can you explain why one user yesterday gave a detailed insight into how some users are trigger happy' when reporting and some users reports are 'almost essays' if only administration has access to those reports. Thanks.

Actually, unlike your good self, I don't know how the private side of the sight works.
I only know because I pay attention when things are explained to me....
Mods can delete posts and close threads but the EDs can reverse those actions. Mods have to give reasons for their actions but as far as I'm aware they don't see each other's reports or those from other members.
APG //Danny, because having secret police on a forum//
A bit of an exaggeration. Many moderators are known and don't hide their identities.
Where is the thread giving the "detailed insight"?
That mods get constant flack is a myth. None of the known mods encounter criticism - except one - but that's not because he's a mod. It's because of his input here. He is the author of his own misfortune. The secrecy surrounding mods understandably encounters criticism and always will until its remedied. Secrecy is not conducive to confidence. It serves only to engender suspicion and ill-feeling.
^That in response to barry.
I don't who the mods are.
Ignorance is bliss.
Don't name them if you know.
APG...because they've said on more than one occasion that they will continue to report.

A badge for Moderators would be a good idea and a reward for all their hard work in keeping the site Spam free. If I were a moderator I'd be proud to have a badge on my avatar, I wouldn't want to hide in the shadows tenderly caressing my Zapper ;-)

Theland I would never out a Mod I'm sure its against Site Rules.
And yes I will ....but
As far as an essay is concerned ,No!
You give a reason and that’s it !
"None of the known mods encounter criticism - except one"

Do you expect to be telt which member(s) reported a post, which Mod deleted a post or closed a thread?

Who said I'm talking about you, Bobbi? Stop being narcissist!!
You have to be one of the rudest people here ummmm, and who said I was answering you ?
Your turn to be precious now eh ?
naomi, I have seen many posts criticising the mods and accusing them of favouritism, or trolling ABers to remove their posts without good cause. The mods may not be singled out or named but the criticism is there about them as an entity.
Don't report so much spam everyone, Polly needs her keto.

In other news, the ed clearly trusts the mod team to do their job impartially. Why can the members have the same trust? I agree that it would be nice to know who the mods are, but I'm not going to get worked up about it. AB works perfectly well as it is.
Who else were you answering on this thread, except me?

If it was someone else it doesn't make sense.
