A lot of spammers already have an avatar on wordpress. If they post on AB using teh same email address as their wordpress account their avatar appears on their profile. It won't appear on their posts though until after 10 days (or is it 14?) days

If you have an avatar set with gravatar it follows you from sites that use gravatar, unless you change it/
