I'd advise others not to do this as it's also just happened to me. I do quite often get to the Oct 2013 page (top of latest posts is 'camera batteries') but it's usually when the cat walks across my keyboard. I've seen many other ABers refer to the Oct 13 phenomenon too. I have to completely close my browser and sometimes the whole laptop to make it go away. Spooky glitch.
2013 seems to be the default when things go pear shaped.

Whoaw! That was weird.
Had to close browser and empty my history.
Spooky when it happens, yes.
It's Haunted!
(I will go test it now, very strange though, I suppose we should pull the plug on it in case anyone time travels accidentally)
But pleeeese Ed can you sort it ?
How odd. I can't make it happen for me, but I have seen it on someone else's browser. I'll deactivate the category and see if that protects us from the evil that lurks at the heart of the answerbank.
I splashed some holy water on it, and it melted away.
"Eye of Newt and toe of Frog....."
I thought my avatar was a bit scary... crikey!!! look at Ed's.
"I splashed some holy water on it..."

Spilled coffee on it in the first place, more like ;-)
Well it has not gone away on my pc So what do I do ?
What did you do just before you went back to 2013 Baz?
With me it has been heavy handedness with the 'back' button - and whoosh!
I (foolishly ) clicked what the OP stated , to see what he was referring . I have cleared browsing history and also closed down pc , but problem remains
Oh dear.
Ed - any ideas ?
Hello anyone else still having this problem ? Ed appears to be ignoring me
You should be able to free yourself in the way gromit described. You will need to close your browser and empty your history.
