For the past 3 days I have been challenged each time I try to access AB (even though the 'remember this password' box is ticked). This was a little annoying, but tonight my password was refused twice, before being accepted the third time I typed it in carefully. Is it me - or are others having this problem and can anything be done about it? (N.b. I am I.T. illiterate, so don't get complicated.)

Do not panic, thee has been a lot of bother over the last 3 Days, join the fun at least you are now inside.
Every time I come on here I get a pink banner at the top of the screen saying 'an error occurred while trying to add your answer' -even though I've not answered anything. Very bizarre site
I've no idea why your password would be rejected but your main problem seems to be that something is deleting cookies from your computer when you close your browser (or when you shut down your computer). So you need to check your browser settings and also those of any security software that you use.

Thank you all very much, quite reassuring. Buenchico, I'm sorry, I wouldn't know how to start 'checking browser settings' or what to do if I found out how to do it. It's very kind of you to give me the information, but, honestly, I meant it when I said that I was IT illiterate! Ask me anything about literature over the last 500 years - but computers were fascinating roomfuls of whirring lights and things on a small TV screen when I was a kid. It's a major achievement to send emails, access this site and buy things on line. O.H. just bought me a Kindle for my birthday - but I can't work out how to buy books for it!!
Anyway, thank you again - nice to know I'm not alone.
I'm now having the same problem. It's a pain having to sign in every time.
Question Author
It is a pain, was more worrying when password kept being rejected. If it's any help, my problem seems to have stopped.
jourdain2 - I think you may be able can get books from your local library for your kindle for free, or at least my OH can for her Nook at ours. Why pay yours a visit - or post a question in computing - someone will know more
Question Author
Thank you for that bright idea TonyV! OH is in hospital at the moment (had 1 op. today and has another booked at a different hospital on Thurs. - so it's quite a week! I'll sit down with the thing when times are calmer and pursue your ideas.
jourdain...you need an Amazon account to buy books from Amazon...the main source for kindle books. There are also loads of free sites, including project Gutenberg ... http://www.gutenberg.org
