We're planning on offering a "lighter" service mainly focusing on threads you've missed by may be interested in, site updates and silly items like "joke of the week". We wondered how often you'd find it acceptable to receive a newsletter of this type?

Also, before it's mentioned, no, there's no option for not receiving the newsletter in the poll. That option happens to be a tick-box in your profile, if you're unlikely to ever want a newsletter it's likely this poll isn't for you!

I think newsletters too often can be easily be consigned to the spam folder, once a month is enough to remind occasional users that the site exists without "harrassing" them.

I think newsletters are a very clever way to remind people to use the site...assuming they are not tagged as "spam"

My box is ticked but I never get a newsletter:-( Is it something to do with living ooop north?

once a fortnight or even once a week if it is about this site, if it is to advertise other stuff, sites, etc, then once a month would be fine for me
