Section 18 assault charges help please from very worried mum

My son was working as a doorman; he was accused of setting up an assault, which his boss is accused of doing. He is charged with a section 18 assault charge, he isn’t accused of touching anyone...

charges for section 18 is it always a prison sentence - can it be suspended?
