rear disc plates (Picasso)

Can you tell me why the rear disc plates are scored on the inside surface only

Has anybody had to change the rear disc plates on a Picasso 1.6 HDI Exclusive at 18,000 miles due to severe wear on the inside surfaces.

Citroen Picasso rear brakes

Citroen Picasso Hdi 1.6 Exclusive. The rear disc plates had to be changed at 18,000 miles due to severe wear on the inside surface. Has anybody come across this problem at such low mileage?
