In this case the security guards were only doing their job, why did this person need to make such a fuss.

/// A spokesman for Tesco said shoppers could take baskets to their cars, as long as they were brought back to the store. ///

Oh yes, and how many would? some can't even bother to wheel the shopping trolleys back where they are stored.

But it appears she managed to get a £10 voucher out of it along with press coverage, the only saving grace is that the security guards also happened to be black, else it could have been even more serious.

Ha ha that is what I thought divebuddy, but thought naaa better not.
The face that lunched a thousand chips.
Thanks you Mamy...I thought I had made myself quite clear but apparently not !

What is this daft woman going to do every time she shops...take her basket halfway across the car park and risk this being misinterpreted as an attempt to steal the ruddy thing....or pay about 50p for a bag-for-life ?

Definition of bag-for-life...one off payment of about 50p and never have to buy another ever again.

I hate to repeat this but ....simples !
Then carry your bag for life with you everywhere like a child's security blanket.
Oooohhh the ruddy bag is, at home, in the wrong car, in the right car but not with you when you are shopping, haha have fun and learn you people in England. 'She who must be obeyed' even displays shopping bag envy, someone should invent paper bags.
Togo...I realise that you may be being ironic here but it really isn't difficult to remember to put a couple of these bags-for-life in the boot of the car. There are other, less bulky ones that don't take up much room in your pocket either.

We have been doing this here in Wales for a few years now, and there just isn't any fuss made any more. Not that I recall much in the way of fuss being made when it was first introduced mind you.

Even if you have forgotten the bag-for-life, a reusable one only costs 5p, which is hardly a fortune !
What makes me laugh people grudge paying 5p for a bag but are happy to be conned by the "special" offers!

If only it was so easy to change the wife !

You got me mikey. But it doesn't half rankle when you buy yet another bag for life. I want to know if I can have a life for every bag
No but it is one for the cockneys to consider divebuddy.
And only cost 50p mikey.
How much was she going to eat for lunch that it was necessary to take a basket outside? Could she not just carry it?

And so it goes on.

I have heard of people dressing their best when they go to court, but I wouldn't imagine that this is this chap's normal attire.
Yaay just won my bet...the thread that just keeps on giving !
AOG - //I have heard of people dressing their best when they go to court, but I wouldn't imagine that this is this chap's normal attire. //

On what basis would you 'imagine' that AOG?

Is there a pattern emerging here?

Why is it when you speak the truth on this site your posts are removed?

maggiebee - //Why is it when you speak the truth on this site your posts are removed? //

Posts are not removed for 'speaking the truth', they are removed for contravening Site Rules - and for no other reason.

What a crass statement - unless you know Mr Hilton personally?
