Not long after Natalie Haythornthwaite moved from the Yorkshire Jets to Manchester Thunder, the Whippets have signed Sophie Halpin from the Australian Netball League.

This is a great signing for the Whippets. Sophie has played for Australia U19s.

Moving from Tasmania to Yorkshire could be a bit of a culture shock.

I'm struggling to update on the netball culture, J.J., having been in athletics most of my life. All the same, daughter and granddaughter are deep into netball and the Yorkshire Jets and I used to play Goal Defence, so I'm interested. I rely on you to keep me up-to-date! It could be a bit of a culture shock, I agree - but Yorkshire is not what a lot of stock images...

It could be a bit of a culture shock, I agree - but Yorkshire is not what a lot of stock images sell to you Southerners! We are, actually, very welcoming folk (just ask Mr. J2) as long as the incomers don't have any 'side'. She'll be fine - the weather may not be quite the same...................... :)

We southerners, jourdain?

From here, "up North" means London.

I know that Yorkshire people are lovely, j. I've seen telly programmes with people from Yorkshire. Or maybe Scotland. Somewhere up there, anywhere.

I think the Jets will have a good season this winter.
:o) JJ - and thanks for BA xx
