yes, if I was a high mileage user and up and down the motorways of this nation - with a good cat system or NOx reducing facilitator, they are the most economic way of burning up the miles. This current debate is puerile, not withstanding the VW group looking to bend the data, when it wasn't necessary, the twatsofthemotoring century.
I don't see why not.

One should be more concerned at being able to be told what we must do by an outside environment police court.
Bought one recently,LOVE it.
I am a convert to Diesel after 42 years of petrol cars.
My Zafira 7 seat 1.7 ecodiesel does over 60 mpg, 75mpg and more on long run.Even 55 mpg around town. That is 20 to 35 mpg more than the petrol version that the guy next door but one has.
You can't tell the 2 apart by the engine noise either.
At 60 mph my diesel is turning under 2000 rpm in 6th gear while my
neighbour's petrol car is doing 3500 rpm in 5th.
It is a Motability car & we have just ordered the new one, yes a diesel .
Will never go back to petrol now simply can't afford to pay twice as much for fuel!.

2 of our 3 cars are diesel, no probs with them at all, the 1 petrol is a VRS Octavia Estate which is great fun to drive but is definitely more expensive to run but worth every penny imo!
No, providing the car get's serviced correctly, they will out last, out sell, hold their price better than a petrol.
Are Diesel Cars On The Way Out?

No I don't think so.
TTT ask any HGV company the same Q.

who's talking about HGVs?
Who has an "anti diesel fetish"?

Certainly not me.
Don't know about diesel cars - but exit signs are.

(I'll get my coat.)
Surely the carcinogenic fumes you inhale every time you fill up a petrol car are more dangerous than the particulates from a diesel.
Put your coat back on the rack Arrods. ;-)
The point I'm trying to make TTT, If Derv's was on the way out can you see Haulage company's running petrol artics?
Just seen this, hope not we have just ordered one.
Diesels will be here for a long time Ubasses.
