I forgot to mention that my hammer toe is congenital, but I have managed until lately, and wonder if shoemakers have started cutting down on the amount of leather put in shoes,! x
You need to invest in the wider footwear made especially for people with these issues, such as 'cosyfeet' (many other brands exist)
My late mother told me on a number of occasions that she used to have a hammer toe. But got it operated on to correct it. Perhaps you could check that op out and no longer have the issue ?
I have had both feet operated on over the years for bunions and on one foot they straightened my hammer toe. They didn't on the other foot , I have a protector made at the podologist specially. It's moulded from silicone I think. It takes a bit of getting used to and now autumn is here and can't wear open shoes for much longer I must go and look for it .
