Hi All,

anyone know where the clutch bleed valve is on a march 2000 laguna tdi 1.9
"W" reg. I was unable to get into any gear, although the clutch pedal had pressure, no different from usual, the only way to get into gear was to switch the engine off. I phoned man in garage, he said you have an air bubble, you need to bleed it. So, messed about under the bonnet, pulling hose, wires etc. couldn't find the valve. got back into car, and the clutch was as normal. i drove along the road, changed gear a couple of times, and the gears suddenly went back to the fault. i spoke to man in garage on the phone again, he said i probably moved a flexible clutch pipe and made the bubble float up, but after pushing pedal a few times i had pushed it back to the cylinder. so, where is the cylinder bleed valve please?

You need to be asking yourself why air is getting into the system. Has the fluid been changed recently? Has the fluid been changed in the last two years? How many miles from new? Is there a problem with the master cylinder or the slave cylinder?

BHG,
The reservoir is full, so if it is a leak, its minute, but bleeding it will get it on the road again, then see if it gives trouble again, if so, then dig deeper, but still need to know where the bleed point is.
I honestly don't think you have an Clutch "Air" problem, if there was air in the system it would be there constant, the clutch Cylinder should be ( As you look from the front) on the N/S ( Passenger Side) my view, clutch / Thrust Bearing ready for changing.

Been to garage man today. The clutch has collapsed. This particular model was made for only nine months between the old model and the next facelift. the clutch gear is possibly £519, plus labour, and, it may have a dual mass flywheel that has gone wonky, so, scrapyard here we come.
Annie, there are many sites out there for Clutches, search in your area for Clutch Replacement Services, Ebay for the model of your car, I would think you can get the Assembly for under £300, If the car is worth of keeping why buy another if it's only the Clutch, if the rest of the car is in good order It's worth keeping, buy another and you don't know what your buying.
Just had a quick look on Ebay, prices range from £80+ being that the Engine is In-Line this would be far better & easier & less time to complete, this job can be done for under £300.
