There is nothing 'inevitable' about it, but it's a possibility.
This 'post removal' makes a thread very hard to follow.

I have no problem with it.

If the post following a 'removed' post obviously refers to it, then you can ignore it, because it will make no sense.

So carry on to the next post, and down from there.

That's what I do.
The technology required to build a "dirty bomb" has been around for a long time, so its nothing new. Its been available to terrorist groups of all persuasions but its never been used before....not sure why ?

I hope it's for the same reason that no-one uses it - who wants a Third World War that lasts about ninety seconds!

No one in their right mind would sell material to a client who seems mad enough to deploy it because they (the seller) can have no way of knowing where the buyer is planning to set it off; if they are enjoying their life in a major conurbation then there is a serious possibility that it will become the target.

As for any potential buyer, mad as they may be I just hope that they are not also ignorant: about the planet's prevailing winds running from west to east, for example. Wherever they live, the radioactivity will be coming their way. If not airborne, it will spread via the oceans. Their deity will not magically intervene to save them from its effects.

And, yes, the maddest thing about the concept of mutually assured destruction was the idea that shelters would deliver anyone safely back to a remotely habitable planet, where farming or fishing might still be viable.

mikey " Its been available to terrorist groups of all persuasions but its never been used before....not sure why ? " yes but the material that makes it a dirty bomb, is thankfully hard to acquire.

Does it matter if they do or not ?

It's the blast from the explosives which would do the most damage, in terms of killing or injuring people, not the radioactive material mixed in with the explosives.

The aftermath of the explosion would tie up resources to control the panic, decontaminate the area and people affected by the radioactive material, but the liklihood of anyone exposed dying as a result of the exposure is minimal.
I am very much afraid that the answer to your question is 'Yes'. :(
