As you know maxie was like a frightened pussy going around the house but now I have have given him the will to live like a dog - he is cheeky=- Wont do what I tell him etc - won't come back in the park.

I surely have done something very wrong. !!!

Sit sounds like you have spoils and indulged Maxie whilst giving no training or discipline.

You'd do well to look into some local dog training classes before it's too late.

I had a rescue dog. Poor thing didn't have a nice life. The only way I could get him to come back was to sit down.

well for the first time last night I was stern in my tone and he answered accordingly - hopefully when we get to the park he will get my message.

Have you considered some training at any point since you got Maxie?

It could do you both some good.

Yes I probably have spoiled Maxie - he makes me laugh - when I used my "stern" tone the other night - he turned on his back looking for tickles and he was nervous.. No hopefully the repellant will work if not - will wash the bloody mats.
