I'm surprised that any bookie would even lay an event that has already happened.
From memory of previous finals, families and friends of the finalists are present when the results are announced so unless they film three endings, there will be a fair few who know the outcome.
Bookies have often taken bets when the outcome is known, "who shot JR?" springs to mind.
it's only a three horse race, they would have to stake a fortune to make a killing
The point is that it was not always a three horse race and those in the know could have taken advantage of higher odds during the series, knowing the outcome in advance.
The result of this was know and 'leaked' even before the 1st program was shown on TV. There was a previous news item that a surge of bets were being placed on a contestant who was considered an 'outsider', this was before any eliminations.
I posted about Ladbrokes suspending betting on the bake off winner back in early August, a couple of days after the first episode had been aired. The results of these programmes are known well before they are aired and all those 'in the know' are, apparently, sworn to secrecy. Whoever it is who has tried to make a killing has not been very clever, trying to place multiple £20 bets.

SPOILER ALERT;

Also back in August, i did a little digging and saw that, prior to the suspension, the money was coming in for Nadiyah. No surprise, then, were she to be announced the winner.
ToraToraTora; the bookies will open markets on anything that will turn a profit - and shows such as this have proved quite lucrative for them in the past.
Wasn't the line up fixed this series just to appease the pc brigade?

So no surprise if Nadiyah does win, fixed line up, fixed result?

^^ Nafdiyah has won, it was known back in August when betting was suspended, see ken4155 's post at 14.11 !
Hate to say i told you so, but..................................................... Just wish i'd been in the 'know' then i could have made a tidy sum before betting was suspended.
Would've been a stewards enquiry though Ken don't you think?
There is to be a 'stewards', Panky. 'Auntie' wants to know who the mole is that leaked the result. Of course, it may not have been a Beeb employee; it may well have been a relative of one of the contestants.
