We are towards the end of a house sale and purchase which hasn't been very straightforward.
We have been asked by the solicitors of the house we are purchasing to sign an agreement form which includes a fixtures and fittings form which is incorrect.
It's wrong because the printed list that includes everything that be left in a house such as the usual kitchen cupboards, fitted wardrobes and floor coverings down to items that aren't usually included such as burglar alarm, tumble dryer, washing machine, fridge/freezer,dishwasher and absolutely everything has been ticked as being included in the house sale although the majority of these things present.
I raised this with my solicitor some weeks ago who in turn raised it with the seller's solicitor and yet we have had the exact same form sent thru to us last week which we are expected to sign and return.
This form really bothers me -if it not accurate what's the point of it even being submitted to us.
I really took time to complete the form to the house I am selling deciding what we may take and what we will be leaving but haven't had the same accuracy from our house purchase. Should I be worrying about this?

no - you can just sue them after for not putting in what they agreed to!

The form should accurate. I've just taken a look at the blank form - Law Society Fixings and Fittings form Edition 3 - and there is nothing on the form that the BUYER signs - only the seller(s) signs.
Your solicitor asks you to confirm that it is right, and you have told him what errors are. Provided all the things you expected to be INCLUDED are listed, I wouldn't get upset about it - it is their stupidity.
You should ask your solicitor for definitive advice - but my non-legal view is that are not binding yourself to anything to your disadvantage, unless you are concerned they may leave garbage white goods that you have to dispose of.
A burglar alarm, if fitted, should be listed as a fixture, lest they attempt to remove it.

I didn't put in original post that the house is empty and we have a pretty good idea of what is included in the purchase . The form has been filled in by the seller's estate agent who obviously weren't bothered about filling in the form accurately .
