for you two Villa-ites, take three baggies, marinade them in vodka, stew, mix with green spices and herbs and then liquidise......a touch of Wolverhampton sour cream to finish. Serve over Brummie blue potatoes.
No Brummie Blue spuds if you please, DT ;-)
Blue spuds??...baggies...? What...?
Daisy - I like this (I find tomato on it`s own too sweet) Roast 4 red peppers in the oven for 20 mins or until soft. Put them in a bowl, cover and leave to cool. Peel off their skins, deseed and roughly chop. Peel 1k of tomatoes (put them in a bowl of boiling water until the skins become soft/split and then peel) Chop 4 peeled shallots, 2 garlic cloves. Fry the shallots and garlic in olive oil. Add peppers, tomatoes, 1.2 ltrs chicken stock, 1tsp smoked paprika, a pinch of sugar and salt and pepper. Stew gently for about 30 mins. Process until smooth. I like to drop a round of goat`s cheese into the soup (the rinded type)
surely they are better than Lichfield Lurchers or Driffold Duds....?
Sounds fantastic DTC, I'll have a go at that when in mellow mood. I only clicked on to say that, in my experience, courgettes go with everything and I often cook them sliced, layered and covered with butter, salt and pepper in the microwave for a couple of minutes.

They are really good if you slice and layer them (with a little butter and seasoning) and put cold, smoked, peppered mackerel on top of them; cover with film and microwave for a couple of minutes. This is my preferred method as to press.
As a true blooded American, pasta, I am disappointed that you have never heard of a blue potato, the Adirondack Blue potato for example.....tut!
Pasta hangs head in shame...all she ever knew was the Idaho....*sniff*
Thanks DTC and Tony
Not much point in going to all that trouble just for me
Afraid red peppers make me ill
Vodka is the drink of the devil
and of Baggie fans, Daisy, hence the chance to liquidise a few.....Tony will be in ecstasy and marinading the mash into his goats food.
Penalty for pasta, to visit the Texas chain, 'Whole Foods' - nearest branch to you being Cheltenham.
Whole Foods Market are ridiculously expensive. I have to eat out of there sometimes. I have found sachets of Indian spices for £5 a pop in there that I have bought in Delhi for 50p.
and allowing for the airfare.....?
It`s nothing to do with the airfare.
I've been to Whole foods market...near Westbury...NY ;-)
No way I can get to Horsham
I do like Whole Foods. For years I bought their facial sun lotion because it was organic and it was the only lotion that didn`t make my eyes sting. Then I discovered Neutrogena Clear Face which does the same job. The thing with Whole Foods is that you can go there and get a meal from their hot counter for $30 and you can get the same thing from Panda Express for $9
Never add any stock to vegetable soups - it masks the flavour of the veg. Stock cubes are a complete no-no!
