Cctv Hard Drive Question ......

Hi fellow ABers :)
I'm after a CCTV system and it doesn't come with a hard drive.
I've messaged the seller and he's told me:

"The DVR needs to install a 3.5inch SATA2 hard drive to record"

plus the spec sheet says:

"Hard Drive Interface - 3.5 inch SATA II Interface (Up to 2T Hard Disk)"

.... I'll be honest - I've no idea what this means. I'm assuming the SATA refers to the connection type/size, so it won't take a USB connector??

I've had a look at a few hard drives and there are SATA 1,2 and 3 hard drives available, so what would happen if I got a 1 or a 3?? Would it still work correctly, or am I limited to buying a SATA 2 only??

Just in case you're interested, here's what I'm after (a real bargain in my opinion):

You can buy any SATA you want, it will still work. I recommend this one as it is designed to be on 24/7 for CCTV and NAS Amazon.co.uk User Recommendation The pvr unit will have a SATA connector which connects with the SATA connector on the hard drive. Very easy to connect together

Of course you don't have to buy a 2TB drive, a smaller one will do the job
That seller is very naughty, he lists the item as being in the UK but his contact details are:
FLAT/RM 15B 15/F CHEUK NANG PLAZA 250 HENNESSY ROAD HONG KONG
518000 深圳市
China

His terms and conditions require the buyer to bear the cost of returning the item if faulty. If you return it for any other reason he will deduct the cost of the outward shipping from your refund.
