Amazing how the UK can suddenly find cash and resources when it comes to looking after the world's population, while it's own people suffer.

I saw scenes of these 'new comers' on the TV news, the accommodation they were living in would be the envy of many, it also showed them attending classes, where they were being instructed in matters of benefit claiming, health care, and free dentistry.

How many times have we heard requests to the government to spend some of this overseas aid on our own people, all without success I'm afraid?

Then tell me this, how is it that there is no shortage where these people are concerned, since they are immediately housed?

AOG...most of that long list of freebies are also available to our long-term unemployed, that have never contributed anything to the pot.

Perhaps some of these refugees will be willing to work, as most of the recent immigrants from Eastern Europe have, and then they can contribute to the pot. It could be that some of them will be the kind of workers that we so sorely need here in Britain today, like Nurses and Care Assistants. Maybe some will be building workers, that will be useful if this Government ever starts to listen to people and starts building more housing !

Then surely that can only be a good thing in your tolerant and compassionate mind mikey, so you should now be shouting his praises from the rooftops, instead of trying to gain political points.

The usual frequent reply that we have all come accustomed to, yet seldom solve the problems, only escalates them.

I'm glad I'm not still teaching there. Our school had a large intake from the Great and Little Horton areas (Sunni Muslims) and they are a tight-knit community. Once, we received 2 boys from (I think) Tunisia. They were picked on mercilessly and the staff had to be very vigilant to protect them from nastiness and bullying. Good luck to all the Language support staff in the area, and to all the schools.
