Electoral Roll at the Library
Question Author
Thanks Baldric. Can I do this online?
If they've opted to be edited out, you won't get them at all.

Google "Electoral Roll Access"
Agree with Baldric.
Might sound daft, but we know all our neighbours names from their yearly Christmas cards and from talking to them - do you get on with one of your neighbours whom you could ask?
No, you can't view the electoral roll online. If you go to your council house or library you can look at it there
If you do view the electoral register in person at the council house or library you will see the full register - everyone who is registered to vote.

The open register is the one you can opt of and that is the one the council sells to whoever wants it, including the online electoral searches
Is this what you mean, you can search by putting in the addresses of the people you want to see.

Thanks to everyone for your suggestions and help.
I have purchased a property in a street I am not familiar with but will not move in until the builders finish renovations in about eight months.
I would like to collect names of other residents in order to be in touch with them at some future date.
I tried Sharon's link above, but after three or four requests it came up with a message that I'd already used up all the freebies I was allowed! If you need more than that it's gonna cost ya!
If you look at it in the library I think you can photocopy a limited number of pages.
You can make hand written copies in any case

I must confess that couple of weeks ago I came across a site that listed the residents of my new road. Perhaps a bit out of date perhaps. However I didn't save or make a copy of it as I assumed I would be able to find it again. But no...my memory has failed me and I have spent hours trying to find it to no avail. I know it's out there somewhere!
