Ric.ror I have had a bond for over 30 years and have not won a penny.
In fact I have two types of bonds, one with the old monetary unit printed on and a more modern bond with a 9 digit number.
I reckon the older bonds I have are obsolete.
No Premium Bonds are obselete, Sharon.

All the numbers that have ever been issued (and not cashed in) since their launch in 1956 go into the hat each month. A couple of years ago my sister won £25 on a £1 bond that my mother bought for her around 45 years ago.
^^^

And they are not obsolete either :-)
I have 4 £1 bonds since 1959 which have never won :( How much would that £4 be worth today had it been stuck in a savings account?
I usually have a win every month. Various prizes from £25 to £10,000. Fingers crossed for this month .
I have a bond/bonds ( bought 25+ years ago approx ) - however i have no idea where to put my hands on them .

Can the people who work for ERNIE , trace them from my name / dob etc ?
Bazile, yes. Give them a ring.
thanks
Well that is good to know that they're obsolete. Guess I gotta keep my fingers crossed!!
No, Sharon, you have to buy more bonds.....if you look at the list of winners it gives you their 'holding' .
very few winners have less than £500 at the very least.
I mean not obsolete! I guess I'd better buy bigger bonds!

If you could have managed 5% per year then about £60, hc
The value of £4 in 1959 today ranges from £77.60 to £294, depending upon which comparator is used.
Just checked and I've won £50 this month. A few more noughts at the end would've been nice.

I'm presuming I have not won anything this year as I have just checked and it is only showing the next draw date (5 October) and my winnings for August
Maybe next month I will get the big one
Congrats to you Janbee
