i quite like this show on the discovery channel. but they made a big boo boo the other day. as usual they had to search the planet for a particular car, eventually found " an Austin Heeley frog eye" gave it the complete works, inc a complete paint job. when it came to selling it, there was 1 huge oversight!! they forgot to include the convertible roof, the old knackered one was still in place!! what was the excuse??? of course the price had to be reduced significantly.

What a mistake to make.
Hi, I do watch the ;program with delight, the work that Ed put's into some of these car's with the Financial return is laughable, what Mechanic would go to the trouble with so little return?
Never mind the workshop time, who's going to buy a car from that irritating grinning idiot Brewer if there are no cameras around?

Brewer would never make a poker player....when buying a car he gets enthusiastic about the shape ..condition ..colour etc in front of the seller ...and then tries to knock the price down.He needs teaching that its not good etiquette to park your denim clad blubbery butt on a newly painted car bonnet.
I enjoy the program but there are obvious faults about the format - I read online that the cars are found by the Production Team and the purchase is normally filmed using a member of the team or friend or relation - so that part of it is fake.

Then Edd China does a shedload of work (with the help of assistants - no doubt!) which would add up to thousands if it was costed out!

Then the car is sold for a couple of quid profit - balmy!

I've got an idea - why don't they cut out the ridiculous 'Wheeler Dealer/Del Boy' cobblers and just find classic cars and let Edd do them up properly - showing common problems, techniques/tricks of the trade etc - sounds good to me!

Maybe your right mick, but the look on Brewers face was priceless, unless it was stage managed. He really looked shocked, horrified, and embarrassed, how the heck did we overlook such an important detail, of course he didnt say that on camera.
I much prefer Car SOS with Fuz Townsend but of course they spend even more time and money on the wrecks, although we never know what the cost is.

Fuz is much more personable than Ed
