What happens when you try and open the music file??
What format are the files - mp3, avi etc ??
What programme are you using to try and open the files with??
A few questions for you (in the hope that the answers might help us to assist you):

1. Where did you get the music files from? (I'm wondering whether they're subject to DRM [= digital rights management], meaning that they can't be copied between devices).

2. Which format are they in? (Most music files are in MP3 but it's also possible that they could be in WAV format, or something else).

3. How are you trying to play them? (Are you simply double-clicking on a file or opening your media playing first and then attempting to open a file).

4. Which media player are you using? (The most obvious one would be Windows Media Player but you might be using something else, such as Winamp, VLC or GOM).

5. What happens when you try to play a file? (i.e. do you get an error message? If so, what does it say?)

6. Have you tried copy a file to your hard drive and then playing it from there? (If that works, but you can't play directly from your USB stick, it might indicate that your computer can't read the data on the stick fast enough).
I'll have to learn to type faster, Gizmonster ;-)
.... or maybe, I'll have to learn to type more in depth replies, then maybe next time, our replies would be simultaneous :)
