This is quite a long story but to cut it short we ordered two sofas from Harveys at the end of Feb with delivery being approx 16 weeks. At the beginning of June we got a phone call to say 3 seater was in but 2 seater would be arriving in 1 to 2 weeks so we said we would have them delivered together.we sold our old suite and sat on 2 garden chairs,10 weeks later we still had not got our sofas and customer services were no help .Nobody could tell us where they were, excuses were container lost, still in middle East to it was being flown in to Heathrow airport on a certain date but never did land.We made 22 calls to customer service and they just told us lie after lie and never rang us back when they said they would. They did send us some temporary sofas which were disgusting with rips in them food, hairs and even somebodys hair slides between cushions, when we complained to them we were told to throw a blanket on them.We have been so stressed i cancelled them on the 21st August, they have paid me my deposit back but we asked about compensation for phone calls and stress and they offered us £100 which i dont think is enough for all the stress it has caused us.I have emailed a man called Stephen Campbell who i believe is managing director of Harveys but he has not answered my email,i have also filled in an online form to watchdog.I do not know what to do next do i just accept £100.can anybody help.

Your material loss is minimal, £100 compensation seems quite reasonable.
If you want a specific amount, you must say so. It's no good saying you want compensation then not being satisfied with the last amount the company hopes to part with in order to get rid of you.

You need to state you'd like X amount otherwise it'll be a long battle im afraid.

PS- I'm not saying you'll get the amount you ask for, indeed fi any, but it'll save an awful lot of to-ing and fro-ing!
I'd grab the £100 and run. Why should the sofas be in the Middle East? Were they being stuffed with camel hair?
I really think you were lucky to be offered anything!! As others have said, take the money and run.
Take the money. But I don't think I would have made 22 phones calls to them. 2 maybe 3 calls and then I would have cancelled.
harveys are terrible. We got a couch from them -shop floor model so got it cheap and on the same day. They persuaded us to buy the damage insurance which we normally don't do but the leather sofa was more than 50% discounted so we did. It got accidentally damaged by a guest who was wearing jeans with studs in - the leather got torn. We applied through the Insurance for repair and they sent someone who reported the damage was not an accident but 'wear and tear' . Total cheats and liars I would go no where near them. You did well to get £100 out of them - Leave it there and go buy from a reputable source.
