.......is true! Although the Twix hadn't been invented when the Mars family had a falling out. I think it was 1934, when Forest Mars had a big dispute with his father in the U.S. He left the states and set up a factory in Slough, making Mars bars. The birth of the Mars bar! I used to work for Mars and actually met Forest Mars in 1992. He was very courteous and polite and always respected the management structure. At the time there was a new product due for general release called Skittles. Everyone knows them now, but at the time they had only been on sale in the North East. Forest Mars asked the manager if he could have a packet of Skittles. Of course he couldn't say no. When he bit one of the Skittles, it broke his tooth! He went absolutely crazy. As a result, all Mars sugar products are now stored in a heated warehouse to soften them prior to release. They don't tell you that on the ads for Skittles! You heard it here first!

That's not precisely what the advert is about. Many food companies do buy smaller companies out, Cadbury bought out Schweppes (which were bought out by Kraft. Silver Spring bought out Bing.
The original ad (they don't show it fully now) said it was two brothers.
I think I'm right in saying it was Mr Mars, back in the 30s, who adopted a revolutionary wage structure which ordained that the pay of the highest paid member of staff could never exceed 7x the pay of the lowest paid worker?
