Do you agree with the Court Judge who stated that it should not be seen as a 'punishment'?

No I actually knew you wasn't, but it fitted perfectly so I just couldn't resist.

Careful. You will have the man with the rule book on you're case. :-)
//on you're case//

.....and you'll have the grammar police after you, retrocop :-)
The determination to keep traitorous youth at home seems odd.
Let her go to the caliphate and find out what it is to be used and abused by any unwashed, disease raddled rapist/holy warrior then deny her re-entry for treatment on the satanic NHS.
Allah will provide.

Nice dream but I fear the UK social services funded by the UK tax payer will provide if she had got there and managed to return in one piece. :-(

I wonder what is going through the unnamed girl's mind now? Will this have been a wake up call or will she feel thwarted and harden her resolve.

One would hope that both her family and the authorities keep a very close eye on her both with her interaction with others and usage of any social media etc.

It would be easy to say she doesn't know how lucky she is but her definition of lucky may be an antonym.
Personally I suspect the family is behind it. I just don't buy this " we had no idea even though we took her to anti British rallies/obscure Mosques/ all night Koran readings" (take your pick for whichever subversive we are discussing at the time).
You are right there agchristie -no young person sees the good side of any restriction on their freedoms (haven't we all felt that at some time).

Hopefully in time she and her sisters will see the reasons for it,if not they will be old enough to make their own minds up and go where they please.
