Pin Man/yellow Street View Man On Tablets Missing

I cannot get this little man in Google maps on my tablet. Having researched, am I correct in thinking it is not possible for anyone on a tablet or ipad? I find it strange that it is only available for laptop or desktop users. I was given a good alternative, but just find it strange why I can't get it the normal way, unless I am being really stupid. Thank you.

On tablet:

Left side, press 3 horizontal lines & choose google Earth. Yellow man shows right. Push YMan to site for street view.

You can get street view through the Google map app, you don't get the little man though. If memory serves me right tap on the map and a picture will pop up, tap that and you go into streetview mode.

You've not told us:
(a) the operating system for your tablet ; and
(b) whether you're trying to use Google maps within a browser or via the dedicated app.

However, assuming that you're using Google's Maps for Mobiles app on an Android device, go to 'Map Views and Layers' here and then click on 'See Street View images':

I've got Streetview and the little man on my IPad. No problem.

Is that via a dedicated Google Maps app or simply using your web browser? (I can't really see how the little fella could be missing on any device if a web browser is used).

Maps app is on a tablet, incorperating streetview/GEarth/sattelite/terrain etc on left as above.
