How cool is this guy ...

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-sussex-33741380

Every year, he takes part in the Pride Parade ... on his mobility scooter !!

He carries a banner saying " I'm the oldest gay in the village".

In the past, he has been given a criminal conviction for being gay. This weekend, he married his BF, to coincide with Pride Weekend.

That's the way to go when you're in your 90s!

andy-hughes

Why are you getting a little rude over a perfectly sound piece of advice, there is just no need to include such as this: AOG - //andy-hughes.

It is just a simple matter to delete it and set off your post by addressing just the one you are aiming your post at.

Nobody on here does it, why do you?

Because I am white, heterosexual, over twenty-one, educated, and possessed of an enviable sense of humour, matched only by my planet-sized levels of tolerance and acceptance ... so I can!!!
Andy...I'm liking you more.....shivvy the queue up please......☺
divebuddy - //They didn't just dream up the scenario. It goes on all over the place and it really is rather sordid and dirty. //

I am an avid FG fan - and I too laughed at the reference.

Yes it does go on - some things we just have to learn to live with - and hopefully without tarring everyone's considerate behaviour with the inconsiderate behaviour of the few.

Thank you - consider yourself shivvied!!!

(Oo-er!!!)
jno

I know perfectly well how it works, and please note that I deleted the aog, so there would be no confusion who I was addressing.

Had andy-hughes had been using your post to make his point, he would have put

/// jno - //aog, as I recall you were the one who first started using ///s to mark out quotes from other posts.

/// Very useful it is too. But don't forget how it
works! ///

/// That gay couples now are on equal footing with straight couples when it comes to personal tax affairs. ///

Things are not equal for straight couples, they are not allowed Civil Partnerships.

You also forgot, "and not very modest".

I suggest that this could be the platform on which your 'Straight Pride' protest group campaigns, AOG.

I am sure it will be a winner....

divebuddy - //andy-hughes ???????????

Why did you miss the andy-hughes bit, tell me you are not finally taking my sensible advise?
//I am sure it will be a winner.... //

It ought to be. High time others living together were afforded the same benefits.
I'm off for an ice cold G&T.

Enjoy the rest of the debate.

I surely must be - thanks for pointing that out.

And if I may respond to your other post - I did indeed omit the 'not very modest' bit from my ad hoc CV there - thank you again!

Off for tea now - catch you tomorrow for more verbal jousting of the very highest level!!
Marvellous.....All it needs is a bit of organisation and I am sure that all those interested in a 'level playing-field' will be first with their hands up to volunteer to do so.
Considering it’s been done for one group of people, it shouldn’t need organisation. Common sense should tell the powers that be that it’s a good idea for anyone sharing their life with someone else.

Bleedin 'ell guys ...

I didn't expect so many posts.

You do all know, I presume, that if your thread gets over 200 posts, you can ask The Ed for a cut of the advertising revenue.

I think I might meet my pal for a quick drink. To celebrate my bit of advertising income, you understand.

I suppose, really, we should meet in a gay bar. Which, locally, means most of them, of course.

Catch ya later, x x x
/////I'm getting a bit lost/////
JJ, I'm sure your services to the mobility scooter trade will be recognised.

joggerjayne - you may well be in the lead in the AB News section for 2015.
