A quote from history, 'Nero fiddled while Rome burns' ..... The modern day version is, 'Cameron goes on holiday while Calais burns'! What on earth is wrong with the man, this is a major crisis, we are being invaded for Christs sake, and he chooses to swan off on holiday, AGAIN!!

Mikey...there is nothing wrong with this thread!
This one seems okay to me apart perhaps from the use of the word 'bleeding', mikey
"How quickly this simple thread has descended into pedantry and bickering.

Is it any wonder that some AB Members are getting disillusioned ? "

thats a bit rich as youre nearly always one of the main culprits, in fact yoiu can be relied upon to derail a thread with pedantry and obfuscation...sheeesh
See what I mean FF ?
as to the OP

what ?...you think hes not able to be in constant touch with his advisors etc 24h a day if needs be, doesnt he take his mobile with him ?...

get real...
"See what I mean FF ? "

case proven and rested....
I possibly agree with you regarding the 09:54 post (although it's pretty tame compared to some posts on here yesterday) but overall this thread has seemed fine to me.
Funny how Blair's most vociferous critics when he swanned off to Saxony etc are those now leaping to the defence of Cameron.

Not that they're biassed of course.
I wasn't here when Blair was PM so I know you don't include me.
I would have said the exact same regardless of who was PM.
///I wasn't here when Blair was PM ///

You were lucky.
There will never be a "right" time for a PM, whichever Party he belongs to, to take a holiday. Everyone deserves a break now and then and I'm sure he is still being briefed as to what is happening.
//cameron goes on holiday while calais burns//

history is littered with examples like this. the week before easter 1967 the torrey canyon, a very large oil tanker, ran aground off land's end. because it happened on a saturday there was nobody around to make the early decisive decisions that history showed needed to be made. by the time the government started to get a grip it was too late, and what followed was the worst maritime environmental disaster the world had ever seen, is still the worst to have occured in UK waters, and the effects of which were still being felt decades later. you live and learn.
