Has anyone got any recommendations for tablets that are readable outside.

maybe we need on with a screen like the paperwhite if they can do that to a full colour range

I have been using my iPad Air 2 outdoors this summer, and on holiday.

It is perfectly good, but I am not comparing it to anything else.

Whatever tablet you use, you will have to whack up the brightness to full which seriously shortens the battery. Apparently the new iPads have very good daily battery life.
