Our family are big on vesta meals chow mein but recently we have noticed a big change in the taste ( not the crispy noodles )...it is disgusting, we had bought it from Asda a coupla months ago and complained to asda about it and were refunded our money, being a bit put off we only just started getting them last week from somewhere else and they are just as bad..they taste "sweet"...none of us can eat them.....anyone else noticed this?...im gutted !!

I thought that Vesta meals died out in the 1960s!
Ah yes Diddly, my 1st ever taste curry, thought we were ever so adventurous back in those days, lol.
I also thought they went out years ago, seem to remember i was brought up on Vesta chow meins, chop suey and beef curry.

Strewth. Even frozen ready meals are better than vesta. Have you checked the date on the box?

It might say best by 1978 on it!
I could understand them tweaking the recipe 20 years ago but strange to do it now.
I remember having a couple (Bought from Morrison's, I THINK) not too long ago, but I can't remember them tasting "Sweet" - just tasted the way they always did.

Talbot u seem to be a know all on everything, just read your input into a question about tiling, so i suggest you find a better hobby than sitting there and putting your unwanted comments forward on genuine posts...check the shelves maybe of all the major supermarkets...im sure you will find VESTAS!!
It is surprising how many people don't realise they are still out there..

I spend a fair bit of my time making decent nourishing meals for my family rather than feeding them processed rubbish.
Nothing wrong with my advice on the other thread. (the thread btw was not about tiling ....do pay attention)
Stop eating rubbish food.

Well what you eat is what you enjoy so no need to slate what others enjoy, i merely said tiling as this is what the subject was about after he had removed the tiles...u have been a member in answerbank for just under a year yet u have answered well over 5500 questions...makes u a know all in my book...or is it you just like sticking your nose in where its not wanted?
Haven't seen Vesta meals since the 60s. The beef curry one was a favourite when I was living in a rented bedsit.
I used to like Vesta meals, one in particular, but I can't think which one it is now. What I do know is that I stopped buying them because the contents were getting smaller and smaller and I was NOT getting my moneys worth any more !

We thought vesta meals were the height of sophistication when I first got married 40 years ago, but haven't seen them for years. And if I did I wouldn't eat them - horrid processed rubbish
I like to eat a healthy diet most of the time but every now and then I crave and do treat myself to a Pot Noodle.

You came to ask about the difference in recipe not dietary advice.
I had the chow mein and yes it tasted sweet. Not very nice but the crispy noodles were good
If you want new and useful food for the body
