I know the whole idea of picking and choosing religions is
generally disapproved of but I like most of the ideas in
Sikhism - but I do like short hair and the odd brew. Is there
an expert out there that can offer a view on this

I've seen many a Sikh enjoying a pint of beer. They are nice folk.

It is interesting how all religions find some way in which adherents have to modify their natural behaviour, in order to be accepted into the fold.

Cannot have any old indisciplined rabble joining, I'd guess.

I've met all too few but I'd say the same. They're rarely singled out by the press and the last I recall was the guy who cooly defended his retail outlet ftom rioters, the other year.

How are your sword skills?

Why is picking your religion (if you feel you need one) disapproved of ? Surely the sensible thing is to align with the group that most fits your beliefs ?

Anyway ask them what is obligatory. And if that stops you lopping off your locks, then don't join, merely tend to agree.
I worked with Sikhs in BT and I always found them to be very decent chaps. But there again, I wouldn't tar all the people of one religion with the same brush, as many do on here.

Take as you find is my motto.
I think wearing what they do on their head is stupid, but every Sikh I have ever met has been a decent bloke.
