It seems that Americans have donated over $150.000 to Oxford's Wildlife Conservation Unit following the killing of Cecil the lion.....xx

They should use that money to teach lions how to shoot.
Have just watched a clip of a talk show host lambasting the dentist and giving out the Oxford university contact details for people to donate to. He also brought up the fact that the dentist has been embroiled before in dodgey hunts and questions about the correct permits.

Jimmy Kimmel, rvsp....and if you look at Oxford's website you'll see what happened as soon as his programme ended.....

And yes.....the dentist has a very shocking record despite saying that when he's not working he loves to walk and "photograph" wildlife.....mmmmm...☺
I am always wary about donating money to any African charity's, yes I know its going to Oxfords W/C/U, but its when it gets there, (Africa), I have my doubts.
PMSL at rocky's response.

I didn't know they sent all their donations to Africa, Trt....I must have misread their projects.
I read in a newspaper report that the owner of the land on which Cecil was killed is a Mr. Honest Trymore Ndlovu.

Hunting happens, I don't like it but it happens. I eat meat. I love my cats but know that other people see them as food - who am I to dictate to them that eating a cat or dog is wrong.

But being cruel to cats/dogs before killing them or killing them in a savage way is distasteful and inhumane. Cecil wasn't hunted, he was coaxed into an area where the humans (are dentists human?) killed him without Cecil ever having a chance to run/hide or kill and eat the so called humans.

It is the cubs that I feel sorry for, they will be killed by the new boss cat. The family of the dentist guy and those who work at his practice will suffer too.

BUT all the vigilante stuff and stalking etc of the guy is really worrying. What the guy did was evil and he should suffer. But I get the feeling that there will be a lynch-mob congregating - maybe they plan to take pot shots at him with bows and arrows.

I am off to get a pack of ham out of the fridge and will have to do it quietly to make sure Frankie and Merlin don't hear. They are grieving for their Uncle Cecil.

I understand, Wolf.....but I was pleased to see something positive coming from it......x
I agree - I just started talking and couldn't shut myself up.

Maybe Cecil will do more for his species that the dentist guy will ever do for his.

Question Author
I know, Wolf....I share that same bone sometimes.....just can't let it go when something like this gets to me.....

Was chatting this morning with someone who felt sorry for those who work for him.....but I couldn't have been in his employ any more than I guess you could....

I think Cecil will live on for a long time.....

The dentist?.......Hmmmmm....might just get the wax and pins out.....☺
Poor Cecil, he'll never come back and his pride will no doubt suffer, so I am glad, glad, glad that this vile man is now being 'hunted'. See how he likes it !
Question Author
Cecil's memory will live on though, Chap.....through the conservation work at Oxford which is receiving so many donations.....x
