If somebody read from the Bible in public in an Arab Country, they would be arrested and jailed for a long time.

Surely these people were causing a disturbance of the peace of some sort, and should have been disbanded. We have freedom...simple.
Can't fault their devotion. We have little box type stalls set up around the streets of London by J.W. and Christian Scientologists etc. They hand out tracts and try to sell books and convert etc and are not moved on. There is a youtube film of a confrontation between these religious pedlars and the film maker. It was outside New Scotland Yard, Victoria st. :-)
Retrocop...did you mean Christian Scientists ?

There was something on the BBC News website news this week, that the JWs are setting up there stalls outside Tube stations. And you used to see loads of Hari Krishnas dancing around London years ago......I wonder what happened to them ?
I've just listened to that. Has anybody any idea what message he was trying to get through?? I certainly don't!
What the hell is he harping on about?
And why do people stop and listen to the garbage he is spouting?

You could well be correct. I do not pay attention to these people as I go about my business unless one gets pushy but it hasn't happened yet.
I thought they all had the same God what ever their own title reads.
He has a very tidy beard.
Does the use of a microphone in the street transgress any by-laws?

I think there's a big difference between handing out leaflets quietly and using a megaphone to draw attention, especially at night.
Don't people still stand on boxes and shout at crowds at Speakers Corner anymore ?

Using a noisy instrument, viz, ringing a bell.,etc for the purpose of selling (Islam?)
Contrary to Sec 54(14) Met Police Act 1839.

Have a sneaky feeling this was not filmed in London.

Retrocop,

You must have been to busy consulting your trusty 46yr old Hopker's Summons Headings, to not notice a London bus in the background!
