Is it possible these cobras have gone through a surgical procedure to remove venom and are used for performing?
I think I heard somewhere that these crafty fakirs remove the fangs from the tools of their trade.

Yes, mikey. I'm sure Indians know that cobras in the natural state are lethal.

same way as a cobra does. There's no training involved, it's just the snakes own built in instinct. Snake charming is also a cruel practice and they are trying to iradicate it in central and east asia by recruiting snake charmers for venom extraction programs. So unless you're going to go out an buy a cobra and keep the fangs in, try something more productive w/ your time

They don't call them fakers for nothing ! But this makes for very uncomfortable viewing, all the same.
But how would the children know any different, if they were to encounter a cobra in real life ?

I understand that dangerous snakes of all kind are very common on the Indian Subcontinent.
