There is a myth that gout is exacerbated by drinking a lot of red wine and meat. I don't think you can cure it with diet.
It will die down in time. Meanwhile take the max dose of ibuprofen.
there are things you could try not to eat

Ibuprofen, alternating with paracetamol if that isn't enough. If it keeps recurring, allopurinol from your GP is the usual drug.
Had gout for years off and on.GP will give you appropriate medication. Do go, or you will suffer for nothing. Red meat, alcohol, cheese can bring on a attack.
Moderate in everything.

Tomatoes are often blamed by sufferers.
I have had gout for a long time - it is inherited, by dad had it too.

The 'rich living' myth is just that - a myth, I have the diet of a five-year-old and I am tee-total.

Mine was exacerbated by bacon, sausages, and anything with garlic in it, and avoiding those has stopped it but ...

I gave up sugar in drinks and on cereal two months ago, and I have just been away for ten days, and eaten bacon every day with no gout, so maybe the sugar was part of it? I don't know, but try eliminating some things you eat regularly, and try and analyse what you have eaten the day before an attack, you may be able to isolate and remove the cause.
well, I got it from nowhere, andy, one of the few things I can't blame on my parents...
