If I put black tape over the ABS light which is showing on my dashboard, does the MOT tester *have* to pass it (because he can't see the light and is not allowed to remove stuff)?

Just a straight answer please, no opinions/lectures.

Thanks.

If it's an MOT requirement and it can't be checked then I assume they can fail it because the recommended MOT couldn't be carried out sufficiently.
A piece of tape obscuring a warning light would in itself be a cause to fail a car. It would count the same as something covering a headlight or indicator for example.
Depends how "dodgy" the MOT inspector is.
Removing the bulb wouldn't help as it should light up when the ignition is on then extinguish when the motor is running.
Fail
Just an enquiry Answer! why don't you get the problem sorted? It may be cheaper than you think
And it may save your or someones life!
The 'B' of ABS stands for brakes. I would imagine that in every car users mind that it would be vital that the brakes worked correctly.

Thanks sycamore but that isn't an answer to the question.
I *did* request "no opinions/lectures" ...some people just can't resist.

Bottom line: it is now fixed - the garage saw the fault and sorted it out, so the holier than thou may now relax.
Ha! You knew it was wrong but you still asked....I despair.
take the bulb out :) the tester wont know your car has ABS
