McAfee says, don't go there!
"you don't get to pick and choose which parts of God's word you're going to follow"?

Actually, you do. Like anyone, you're free to believe whatever you like.

The link appears safe to me, my virus scanner is fine with it.

True jno, but how do you know what parts are believable and what parts are nonsense, and surely a true Christian should believe all of their bible.
Christians tend not to take instructions from atheists about what they "should believe" (I believe atheists feel the same way about Christians). They don't even have to take instructions from other Christians. That's why there are Protestants as well as Catholics, not to mention lots of other denominations who have gone on believing what they think is right, and chosen to worship with some fellow believers and not with others.

Atheists are more bewildered by Christians who don't believe every word in the Bible than Christians themselves are.
Ratter; //surely a true Christian should believe all of their bible//
How many 'true Christians' do you know? It is quite possible to be a true Christian and eschew large (maybe even all) of the bible. It wasn't, after all written by Jesus.
Question Author
jno, I have never told anybody what to do or what to believe, however I will post things that may discredit and mock these beliefs, they deserve nothing less.
The religious are also blessed with the same freedom of speech to do the same.

Khandro, I have never met a true Christian, I doubt that one exists, they all cherry pick the good bits from their bible and ignore the bits that aren't so good, most so called Christians have never even read the Bible!
Ratter, you did say

surely a true Christian should believe all of their bible

- without a question mark, either. Still, say a few Hail Marys and you are forgiven. (If you don't like the idea, then Hail Maria Sharapovas will do instead.)
most so called Christians have never even read the Bible

where on earth did you get a weird statistic like that from?? About 100 million copies of the Bible are printed every year. They aren't all use for propping up table legs, you know!
Question Author
I stand by what I said, I have never told them what to do, what they " should" do is a very different thing!
I have spoken to many Christians over the years, and most will openly admit to having never read the Bible and few actually have much idea what is in their Bible.
Ratter; // they all cherry pick the good bits from their bible and ignore the bits that aren't so good//

I see nothing wrong with that, and nothing that would prevent one from being a good Christian, they do exist and I know some.
Only the seriously weird believe the bible to be literally true.
Is the Pope a Christian? - but he's not a fundamentalist
// About 100 million copies of the Bible are printed every year. They aren't all use for propping up table legs, you know!//

Quite true, but lots are sitting on bedside tables in motel/hotel rooms for people to ignore.
^^ or even read!
Hardly interesting. Just plain daft. Discussions don't have one side dictating both sides possible responses.

Anyway the issue is surely that gay marriage is a contradiction in terms.
//^^ or even read!//

I've never been quite that bored Khandro.
Even though my past employment meant lots of nights in motel rooms.
