Lump Near Ear

I've felt it for a few days now, feels like a lump under the skin right to the side of the front of my ear around where the cheekbone meets it.

Could this be a swollen gland or something like that?

It's more uncomfortable than painful and feels a bit funny.

After having a cold I don't seem to be able to hear through my grommet when I blow my nose so wondered if something might be blocked (or it just settles down and doesn't do that any more?).

I had worried the grommet might have come out but I can still hear it releasing pressure. The pressure generally has been much better :)

Small cyst ?

I did wonder initially if it was going to come out as a big spot or something, especially in the humidity we've had, but it's stayed a lump so far. My cheek feels a little bit funny too.

Am keeping an eye on it.
You are ? You must have prehensile vision !

In a feeling kind of way haha! I had to take a picture of the area on my phone earlier to see if I could see anything!
This has nothing to do with your your cold or your Gromit ( which will eventually come out).
It is almost certainly a lymph node. Have you had any itching in that ear or problems with your rye or eyelids on the same side?

No big deal.

Monitor the situation.
"rye" should be "eye." ^^

My ear feels a bit uncomfortable, though I have been feeling round there a lot as to whether I can still feel the lump.

It has been a little bit itchy (not unusual though), I tried to clear some wax with a cotton bud the other day to see if that would help. More of a dull ache if anything.

My eyes and lids have been quite sore but I put that down to hayfever with the pollen count being so high and my eyes being drier in this weather.
O.K...then that is the cause of the "lump."

No need to see your GP..........just watch it for the next week or so.

A lymph node or me prodding it/cotton budding it?

Thanks for your advice.

Oh, or did you mean the Sjogrens/Hayfever?
\\\\Sjogrens/Hayfever?\\\

Not the Hay fever and very unlikely to be anything to do with Sjogrens.

How is it today....the ear and the lump?
Question Author
It's still there and feeling quite sinusy and sore eyes and a nasty mucus like taste in my mouth. Needs a little bit numb/achey still around the lump bit.

I've had blocked glands before ;I think) but usually more in my cheek and much more painful.

My eyes and throat and mouth are very dry though, doesn't help I'm sat out waiting for protesters to move to get into the bank! Need to get some more pilocarpine down me and rehydrate.
O.K Does this "lump" get bigger and more painful when you eat?
Question Author
Not that I've noticed, no.
OK...no big deal, it is not a blocked salivary gland and my money is still on a lymph gland as commented upon above.

I gather that you are on holiday in Greece...;-)
Question Author
Haha, no, I'm sat on Market Street in Manchester!

Protesters have shut the bank by protesting outside! They are mentioning Greece though as part of the protest!

Sat on a bench listening to the pan pipe people.

Thanks for your advice. Will be on infection watch just in case. Got bit by something on my foot so hoping my toe is not as probe to bite related cellulitis as my foot/leg!
