Question For Keyplus

I honestly dont mean this in any derogatory or offensive way (and I hope other ABers dont turn this into such a thread as its a serious question)
But as a muslim, how would you tackle the issue of muslim extremists killing innocent 'westerners'...Tunisia, 7/7 etc?
What is the general view of muslims concerning these issues?

A very difficult and complex question, owing to religion crossing national boundaries. There are precedents. After all, Roman Catholics generally didn't take any action re the IRA (in fact in NY they actively supported them) - and they murdered and maimed far more "innocent" than ISIS have (so far).

But note we never bombed their home base country.

All very true canary, which is exactly why I would like the view of a present day muslim concerning recent events. And as far as I am aware Keyplus is the only muslim on AB at present.
Ive known a few muslims in the past and I'm pretty certain that they would be horrified by recent events committed in their name but the question is how would they go about preventing it?

Both factions killed other people with impunity in the name of religious belief.

Incidentally, there are other Muslims on here. I've no idea whether or not they'll raise their heads on this one.

Wiki doesn't mention how many Protestant ministers were crucified by the IRA, nor how many Prozzy girls they captured and sold as sex slaves south of the border.

Ok, thanks for that naomi, I'll agree that Islamic fundamentalists have probably killed more people than the IRA have but it isnt about how many but how to prevent any more?
Would be interested to hear how many more muslims there are on here.

Seems to me that the lines become blurred when religion/politics are involved.
ISIS ... IS political as well as religious.

And thats just about the gist of this post. Are 'ordinary' muslims reporting their extremists? Or would they see it as 'grassing' on their own?

Not where Islam is concerned. The IRA terrorists weren't motivated by Catholicism - they were motivated by politics - but ISIS is motivated solely by Islam.

Being in Turkey at the moment I can say that the subject is a hot topic over here too. All of the bar / restaurant owners I've talked to (they bring the subject up BTW) condemn the actions being done in the name of religion.
Nalit, any answer to your question from Keyplus would be rather meaningless using a sample of 1 person. I don't know what you intend to learn from it.
