Who Sent The Friend Request On Facebook?

Is it possible to find out who initially sent the friend request to someone who is currently a friend on facebook?

For example, if I am friends with my brother on facebook, can I find out if he sent the friend request to me or whether I sent it to him?

I just looked at friend requests and it doesn't appear so but you might be able to see it in notifications.
