Hey there... not sure how many remember me on here but for those who do...

I finally got my spinal fusion [and generally clear out of scar tissue from previous disectomys [sp] at the beginning of December last year and have gone from strength to strength :)
I no longer work from home... I have conquered my fears and crippling anxieties, well almost lol When I look ahead I no longer cry in fear.
I take no pain meds other than Ibuprofen, I walk my dogs everyday and have three part time jobs that I love.
I still don't smoke... that's 3 and a half years almost but best of all I have lost 6 stone in weight since Christmas :)

Life is pretty damn good :)

Hey Lisa, good to see ya. And better still to hear that things are going so well for you these days well done with packing the ciggies up.
well done dive girl
give em hell !
well done, divegirl.....
So pleased for you - and so encouraging for me! I have big back problems, currently using osteopath to keep spine in relative order. I've been offered surgery twice and have been scared of it. Hearing such a positive outcome makes me think that maybe it will prove to be a way out of pain for me, too. Thank you very much. :o) x
Well done Lisa with all you have achieved.

Tilly, not gonna lie, there's no secret to the weight loss... consume less energy than you use. I started with Slimming World and while the plan is easy and works brilliantly I got bored with having to listen to the same women bemoaning the same pound week after week whilst happily admitting to eating cheesecake. I had/have so much weight to lose... I just got in the zone and went for it.
I joined the gym as soon as I was fit enough from the operation and ended up getting a little obsessive about aqua aerobics of all things lol Some weeks I did 6 classes!
I still eat what others consider a very low calorie diet but I am of the mindset that I eat when I am hungry and then I choose to eat the right foods... simples. Loads of fresh fruit and veg... a few carbs [couple of slices of bread or a couple of weetabix]... meat, fish... job done! I still enjoy more than the odd glass of wine though lol

Jourdain...

This was my second spinal surgery and both have been 100% successful :)

I originally had a disc removed some 22 years ago which cured a year long bout of soul destroying sciatica and then this one more recently to repair a smashed tail bone and repair the original op site. The thing was getting anyone to believe as I did that the pain was not weight related... even our Sqadlet on here said I need surgery when I told him of my MRI results. Long story short... found one and repaid him by doing the above [post].

My advice? If there is a chance your pain can be taken away by surgery... do it! They must think there is a good chance if they have offered it to you. I never cease to be amazed at what the medical profession can do for us and I trust them implicitly.

I wish you well my friend x

That's fabulous divegirl .. completely life changing. Best wishes for the future x
Thank you again, divegirl :)
